Located in a very rural area near the Maasai Mara, this community has been living in devastating conditions until now. Well Aware is proud to have contributed to the construction of a centrally located 100,000 liter water tank there now that feeds from their natural spring.

This part of Kenya is very special to Well Aware, since it is the region in which one of our original founding members was born, and it was the inspiration for the inception of our cause.  We have always hoped to be able to aid this community and provide life-saving water for a previously very desperate people.

On our visit to Nkoilale during the Summer of 2010, we were to thrilled to learn that another organization called Stitching Nkoilale has been working in this area for several years rebuilding the primary school and erecting a community center, in addition to launching a sophisticated water project.  The pipeline system, that feeds from a plentiful natural spring, is already pouring water into a 100,000 liter tank.  This project will also preserve the natural spring, which was in danger of conatamination, for generations to come!

Additional piping will be laid by Stitching Nkoilale during their second phase of community development there, which will deliver water to every cluster of residences in the community.  The system layout can be seen below.  You can keep up with the future developments in Nkoilale here and on Stitching Nkoilale's website:  www.nkoilale.nl
