We will launch our 5th annual Shower Strike fundraiser next year on World Water Day, March 22, 2013! Volunteers across the globe will be vowing not to shower until they have each raised one thousand dollars toward life-saving water wells in rural Kenya. This outrageous fundraiser, done only by Well Aware, is designed to call attention to the necessity of water and alleviate the monumental suffering that has resulted from a deadly drought in Africa.
Well Aware's Shower Strike has attracted the attention of local and national media. To see some of our coverage from past Shower Strikes, you can check out our Press Page.
Stay tuned for information about the launch party and Shower Strike festivities.
Hosts from various cities in the U.S., as well as the UK, Australia, Canada, Kenya, and ... more to come... are signed up to participate in the 2012 Shower Strike this year, and Well Aware hopes to surpass $100K this year in the one-week long strike!
Each Striker will wear their official “Shower Strike 2013” T-shirt the entirety of their strike, which sports the number of days they have gone without a shower, as well as our sponsors' logos.

WE HAVE A WEBSITE DEVOTED TO THE SHOWER STRIKE and each Striker has their own page to promote their strike and need for funds. People may make donations to each "Striking" individual on the Shower Strike website, or in cash or check to a Striker or Well Aware representative. Strikers and all volunteers are encouraged to “stink it up” wherever and whenever they can during the week of our Strike to raise awareness for our cause... and to get people to WANT to pay you to shower!
A clean drink of water is a luxury where we need to drill a well, a shower is unheard of. It’s the least we can do to skip ours for a week, so that others can simply survive.
