Voluntourism to Kenya with Well Aware

A Philanthropy & Safari Adventure

Volunteer and Travel with Well Aware to help save lives in Kenya.

August 4 - 16, 2012

Well Aware and travel partner, JB Journeys, invite you on a very special trip to East Africa next August.  We are so excited about this unique adventure, and we can't wait to show you what we have been doing.

You and your travel group will witness history as we observe the drilling of a life-saving bore-hole in rural central-eastern Kenya, celebrate a new clean water source for the villagers, volunteer in the orphanage and primary school which will benefit from this well, and partake in spectacular Safari activity.

This excursion will be the experience of your lifetime.  You will be a part of meaningful change in a desperate community, while also having the opportunity to be hosted by safari lodge accommodations in the most exotic parts of Kenya.  The Well Aware team will also accompany the travel group the majority of the time.

Highlights of the itinerary include:
  • Witnessing the drilling and community celebration of a Well Aware water well.
  • 3 days volunteering for a Well Aware Kenya partner organization assisting needy children.  Volunteer opportunities here include childcare assistance, teaching & education, HIV/AIDS prevention training, sustainable agriculture & youth sports.
  • Witness the life-changes that have taken place in Mithini, one year after Well Aware's installation of a solar powered water well, as well as visits to other Well Aware water systems.
  • 8 night safari visiting 3 distinct areas of Kenya, beginning with the savagely beautiful Samburu Game Reserve, north of the equator, hosting wildlife endemic to lands north of the equator. Next, we'll return to the Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru National Park, best known for massive flocks of flamingos.
  • Your safari concludes in the Maasai Mara, the jewel in Africa's crown.  Maasai Mara is host to the most spectacular array of wildlife.  The annual wildebeest migration traditionally is present in the Mara this month, with one of nature's finest dramas unfolding before your very eyes at every turn.
